This rich and comprehensive formula is based on the latest research on joint pain and inflammation. It is designed to meet the needs of those who demand the maximum possible results from their nutritional supplement.
This preparation is a composition of herbs, vitamins, minerals and amino acids and offers the ultimate support and protection to the joints for those suffering from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, as well as those involved in sports.
It contains Aspergillus niger, which is the source of glucosamine, making it particularly effective and at the same time suitable for those following a vegetarian diet.
Glucosamine – The body makes glucosamine, a simple molecule of glucose and amine (nitrogen and 2 hydrogen molecules). Glucosamine is an important building block for the formation of the special molecules, glycosaminoglycans, found in cartilage. Glucosamine is used almost exclusively to treat osteoarthritis (OA). Once glucosamine is absorbed by the body, it is transported to the joint tissues, where it is incorporated into the connective tissue of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.
Boswellia (Indian frankincense, benzoin) - According to clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis sufferers, benzoin therapy has had significant effects in reducing pain, reducing the duration of morning stiffness and improving overall joint function. During other studies in 260 rheumatoid arthritis sufferers, it was shown that treatment with benzoin resin reduced joint swelling, pain, and stiffness resulting in discontinuation of anti-inflammatory drugs to treat arthritis symptoms.
Similar positive results have been reported in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Ester C – Vitamin C is a vital factor in the formation and maintenance of joint building materials such as collagen and proteoglycan. Results from the Framingham Osteoarthritis Cohort Study demonstrate that a high intake of antioxidants, particularly vitamin C, contributes to cartilage health and prevents disease progression. According to research, taking dietary supplements with ester C is an effective way to build up vitamin C stores.
L – proline - Proline is an amino acid which, using vitamin C, is converted into hydroxyproline, which forms a large part of the collagen structure. Collagen is an important component of connective tissue, tendons and cartilage.
Terminanthus (turmeric) – Curcumin, contained in terminus, fights inflammation by reducing histamine levels and increasing the production of natural cortisone by the adrenal glands. According to initial studies in rheumatoid arthritis sufferers, curcumin was shown to reduce inflammation, pain and stiffness. At the same time, curcumin treatment was shown to be more effective than placebo and the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug phenylbutazone in postoperative conditions.
Quercetin or quercetin - It has a significant anti-inflammatory effect. As part of the anti-inflammatory process of quercetin, it includes the prevention of degranulation of mast cells and basophils, the formation of prostaglandins (special leukotrienes) and lipid peroxidation. The stabilization of membranes is part of its anti-inflammatory action. Also, quercetin suppresses the action of hyaluronidase, an enzyme responsible for the breakdown of connective tissue collagen.
Therefore, in addition to limiting leukotrienes, quercetin stabilizes collagen, which the body needs to maintain healthy joints.
Bromelain – Contributes significantly to wound healing and particularly to the recovery of injuries such as sprains, strains, bruises and muscle injuries. At the same time, it soothes the pain, swelling and minor injuries that often afflict those involved in sports.
Bromelain has also been shown to dramatically reduce post-operative swelling as it has the ability to break down fibrin or factor Ia. Fibrin forms a 'wall' against inflammation, blocking blood vessels and swelling.
Ginger (ginger) – Ginger has an extremely strong antioxidant effect, relieving pain and swelling (edema) in cases of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and muscle injuries. Its therapeutic benefits are due to the reduction of free radicals and the limitation of inflammatory elements, such as thromboxane, leukotriene and other prostaglandins.
Manganese – It is a popular treatment for dislocation and sprain. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, as it increases the levels and activity of SOD superoxide dismutase (autoxidoreductase). Sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions have increased needs for manganese. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) prevents the destructive action of free radicals.
Possible Application/Indications : Osteoarthritis / rheumatoid arthritis – restores and soothes pain and inflammation.
Disorders and problems with tendons, ligaments, cartilage and joints.
Support, prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries.
Contraindications : It is not recommended to use it during pregnancy and lactation.
Interactions : Recent studies report that glucosamine may contribute to the body's tolerance (resistance) to glucose. This property results from the fact that glucosamine is involved in the formation of an enzyme, which is necessary for the regulation of blood sugar. However, it has not been confirmed through thorough research that taking glucosamine supplements contributes to better glucose tolerance.
Those suffering from peptic ulcer disease and taking medication with diuretics are likely to experience side effects (mainly gastrointestinal disturbances) from glucosamine intake.
It is not recommended for use by those on medication with anticoagulants, such as warfarin and aspirin, due to the composition of the preparation from natural herbs.
Useful combinations: Osteoarthritis - multy phytonutrient complex, flax seed oil, green food blend, malic acid - reducing acidity.
Diet - increased intake of water-fluids, restriction of animal fats, increase of plant foods. Regular exercise and flexibility exercises. Achieving an appropriate body mass index (BMI) weight. The above reduce the risk of osteoarthritis.
Note : Viridian uses a plant-based (not fish-derived) form of glucosamine (D-Glucosamine Hydrochloride), which contains at least 83% active glucosamine compared to its sulfated form, which contains 50-60% active glucosamine.
- Take 1 to 3 capsules daily with meals or as directed by your therapist.
- For overweight people, it is recommended to take 20mg of glucosamine per kilogram of body weight (20mg/kg).
- During clinical trials, up to 2000mg of glucosamine per day has been administered.
